Suzana Bishop returns to head up Club Melbourne

The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) welcomed its new General Manager, Club Melbourne Ambassador Program, Suzana Bishop today.

Suzana returns to the MCEC team from MCI Australia where she oversaw the strategic direction of the Australian PCO division as Practice Leader Institutional Division. During this time she developed strong working relationships with key Club Melbourne Ambassadors.

From 2008 to 2011 she was Sales Manager Conventions at MCEC and worked closely with the Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau (MCVB) on event development.

Suzana said she is excited to return and looks forward to building on the success of Club Melbourne which has been involved in acquiring 58 international business events for MCEC and enjoys global recognition for its achievements.

“It’s a perfect time for me to start with Club Melbourne’s 6th anniversary dinner coming up at the end of August, I’m looking forward to reconnecting with everyone and meeting the new inductees who will be announced that evening” said Bishop.

With over ten years’ experience in the events and hospitality industry Suzana specialises in business development, sales, event planning and marketing.

MCEC’s Chief Executive, Peter King said: “The new General Manager role reflects our commitment to invest and grow Club Melbourne. The program is a valuable asset to MCEC and with Suzana’s extensive range of skills and industry contacts its sure to develop in new directions.”

Suzana is fluent in Portuguese and French and holds a Masters in Advertising from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

The Club Melbourne Ambassador Program is a collaborative strategy supported by MCEC, MCVB and the State Government of Victoria. Its Ambassadors are influential Melburnians and leaders in their fields, who bring together industry professionals to support Melbourne’s growth by helping secure and host international business events.
