Womex comes to Thessaloniki

The most significant music event in Southern Eastern Europe, the International Music Fair WOMEX – World Music Expo takes place from October 17 until October 21 2012 in the International Expo Centre of Thessaloniki.

The commercial part of WOMEX 2012 addresses the professionals of the international music scene.

The public has the opportunity to enjoy various concerts that take place every night from October 18 until October 20; more than 50 music groups from 5 continents will perform on 7 different stages.

For the first time this year, a special music scene is created, namely CLUB GLOBAL BALKAN, offering the opportunity to local music groups and musicians from NE Europe to present their work.

It is the first time the biggest world music industry event comes to Thessaloniki. This year’s edition – the 18th – is a“Thessaloniki 2012” event brought to you in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, Culture and Sports and under the auspices of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Dr. Karolos Papoulias.
