The 6th Hellenic Spine Congress, organized by the Hellenic Spine Society, took place in Ioannina and involved distinguished neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons from Greece and abroad. About 400 specialists and trainees, neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists and physiotherapists, radiologists and doctors of other specialties took part in the congress, hosted at the Hotel du Lac, started on October 25, 2012 and ended on October 28, 2012.

This year, the Congress was of special scientific interest, as it brought together Greek and foreign speakers from the French and European Spine Societies to discuss the latest medical developments regarding the Spine and how these developments help deal with critical situations during surgery. “The use of the WHO Safe Surgery Checklist published in 2008 is an effective way of detecting errors, preventing complications and assessing the health care services provided to patients undergoing spinal surgery” pointed out Mr. Ioannis Magras, President of the Hellenic Spine Society, assistant Professor AUTH and neurosurgeon, in his interview to the AMNA.

The congress organization was undertaken by the company ARTION Conferences & Events.
