Hans Lafeber joins team Maastricht Convention Bureau

On January 7th, Hans Lafeber joined the team of the Maastricht Convention Bureau, as sales manager conventions. The Maastricht Convention Bureau is a foundation which promotes Maastricht & region as a destination for conferences and corporate meetings.

Hans]Hans Lafeber is looking forward to his new job: “As a destination for conferences, Maastricht & region has a lot to offer. Especially now, with the Maastricht Health Campus developments, there are many new opportunities for Maastricht as a destination for scientific meetings. I am really looking forward to, together with my colleagues and in cooperation with the partners of the Maastricht Convention Bureau and other important parties such as MECC Maastricht, Maastricht municipality and Maastricht University, make sure even more scientific meetings and conventions will be held and even be developed here in Maastricht. A fantastic challenge, to which I am very much looking forward to!”

Lafeber already has experience in the world of conventions: he has had various jobs, including at congress centre Amstelveen, Accommodatie Buro (Kluwe) and Stichting Vakbekwaamheid Horeca. At the Maastricht Convention Bureau he is the successor of Sonja Opreij-Speth, who has taken on a new challenge as per January 1st.

Next to Hans, the Maastricht Convention Bureau team are: Marcel Knols – director, Erica van den Oever – sales manager conventions, Tamara Piatkiewitz-Weide – sales manager meetings & incentives and Katja Zambib-Otten – MICE Coordinator.

The Maastricht Convention Bureau promotes Maastricht & region as destination for conventions and corporate meetings, in the Netherlands as well as abroad. Therefore, they provide free, independent information, advice and mediation to planners and organisers of such meetings.
