EuroVelo 1 open for business in FranceStarting at the Brittany port of Roscoff, EuroVelo 1 journeys for 1,200km along the French Atlantic coast through 4 Régions and 10 Départements, all the way down to Hendaye in the Basque country.  It takes in the Loire estuary, the Vendée Marshes and the sandy beaches of the Aquitaine Coast.  It also passes through some of the most charming towns and cities in France, such as Nantes, La Rochelle, Rochefort, Royan, Bayonne and Biarritz.

The whole route in France is now fully signposted!

As well as the signposting, a brand new dedicated website for La Vélodyssée has been developed – www.lavelodyssee.com.  Full of ideas for getaways or touring holidays, the website features interactive maps, opportunities to post photos and comments, information on the many attractions along the route, accommodation suggestions from the new Accueil Vélo scheme and testimonies from people who have already cycled some of the route.
