Trump Card: Billionaire entrepreneur announces new Hotel in Vancouver

Trump_TowerIn a press conference held in Vancouver in late June, billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump officially announced the development of $360-million Trump International Hotel and Tower Vancouver.

Situated in the downtown core’s scenic Coal Harbour, the 63-storey property will be among the city’s highest towers once completed in 2016, second only to the Shangri-La Vancouver. In addition to 218 luxury residences and 147 hotel rooms, the hotel will feature a champagne bar, pool area and nightclub, boutique spa, and plenty of meeting space.

The twisting glass design envisioned by the late Arthur Erickson – a Vancouver-born architect – is intended to maximize views and ensure each unit’s site lines are distinctive. The new development is expected to significantly increase Vancouver’s international presence, particularly among the luxury market.
