TUI Travel Accommodation & Destinations announces total transaction values (TTV) of €3.694 billion, up 10% in 2013

Madrid, 10th December 2013  – TUI Travel Accommodation & Destinations, part of TUI Travel PLC, one of the world’s leading leisure travel companies, has today announced an increase of total transaction values (TTV) by 10.4% from the previous year to 3.694 billion euros for the year ended 30 September 2013. With headquarters in Spain and an infrastructure in 61 countries, the company has confirmed its plans to maintain growth rates above the market across all its business lines.

TUI Travel Accommodation & Destinations (A&D) is a global provider of hotel accommodation and destination services. With a workforce of 10,509 people (15,590 including joint ventures), the company reported an 8% workforce increase in 2013. In Spain, where the company has its headquarters, the workforce grew 5% to 2,879 people compared to 2012.

A&D competes in the international tourism industry with its three Divisions: Destination Services Division, a global provider of services in destination; Hotelbeds Division, focused on Bedbank and the Transfer and Activity Bank; and The Late Rooms Group Division, an online accommodation retailer with three well distinguished brands focusing on the end customer. TUI Travel A&D has market-leading brands such as Destination Services, Intercruises, Hotelbeds, Bedsonline, LateRooms.com (UK), AsiaRooms.com (Asia) or MalaPronta.com (Brazil).

2013 global highlights include: 

–        Total transaction values grew to 3.694 billion euros, up 10.4% year on year.

–        Record EBITDA result of 116 million euros, 9% more than in 2012.

–        Workforce increased 8% up to 10,509 people in 61 countries.
