Experience the legendary work of Shakespeare at Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai and watch one of the playwright’s most popular classics, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Produced by The Actors’ Gang, the comedy is directed by Tim Robbins, a well-respected American Academy Award winning actor, screenwriter, director and producer. The show will be presented from 19 – 21 June at the DaGuan Theatre, located at the Himalayas Center adjacent to the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel.
Fourteen international actors and two musicians from The Actors’ Gang are set to illuminate Shakespeare’s forest with dance, original music, kinetic expression and a passionate approach to the reality and magic of the play’s language.
Performed without a set, the show relies on the creativity of the actors to create the forest in which most of the play is staged. This is the Actors’ Gang’s first trip to China, with only two stops in Beijing and Shanghai. Before Shanghai, they will perform at the National Grand Theatre in Beijing.
