#BeeSustain is a finalist for the prestigious ICCA Best Marketing Award 2014

BeeSustainThe #BeeSustain initiative, launched by Wonderful Copenhagen Convention Bureau to encourage sustainable actions in the meetings industry, has just been announced as one of three finalists for the ICCA Best Marketing Award 2014.

Tuesday, September 30, 2014 – Copenhagen has a strong green and environmentally-friendly profile, and with its long track record in sustainable meetings management, the Danish capital has earned the nickname Capital of Sustainable Meetings.

With the title comes an obligation not only to keep on developing sustainable options in Copenhagen but also to encourage others to undertake sustainable actions.

Under the parole: ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’ Wonderful Copenhagen CVB, supported by VisitDenmark and partners in the Copenhagen meetings industry, launched the #BeeSustain initiative at IMEX Frankfurt, asking all meeting professionals to share sustainable actions using the #BeeSustain hashtag.

The ambition was to highlight the importance of sustainability and inspire others to be sustainable too – no matter where in the world they stage an event.

Today it was announced, that the #BeeSustain initiative and Wonderful Copenhagen CVB will be competing against Monaco Convention Bureau and Amsterdam Marketing for the honourable ICCA Best Marketing Award 2014 at the 53rd ICCA Congress Antalya, Turkey.

The ICCA Best Marketing Award, established in 1997, recognizes the excellence and outstanding achievements of organizations in their effort to market their destination or product. The judges are looking for innovation and creativity, research and rationale, return on investment, success in meeting the objectives and communication.

Inspired by the publicity and attention created at IMEX Frankfurt, Wonderful Copenhagen CVB has kept the #BeeSustain pot boiling on Twitter – supported by the meetings industry around the globe, and shared its legacy on the websites, in newsletters etc.

A #BeeSustain version 2.0 is currently in the pipeline.
