Fast Company Names Marriott International Among Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Travel for 2016

Bethesda, Md., February 18, 2016 – Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) was named to Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in Travel for 2016.  The list honors leading enterprises and rising newcomers that exemplify the best in nimble business and impactful innovation.  Marriott ranked #8 among the top 10 companies in travel for using short films to market our hotels.  Marriott Hotels recent short films include Two Bellmen and French Kiss.

Over the last several years Marriott has launched several new ideas to help put the company at the forefront of travel.  Marriott leads the conversation around travel with the Content Studio. To attract a next generation of travelers, the company launched new and relevant brands like Moxy Hotels.  To connect with guests instantly and everywhere, Marriott adopted new technology including Alipay, Apple Pay, Mobile check-in and Mobile request.  While technology is a critical part of consumer expectations, Marriott saw opportunities to delight guests with Canvas, a co-creation food and beverage platform. The company is meeting customer needs with Meetings Imagined to reinvent how meetings are planned, making them more visual, social and purposeful.
