Iran Plans to Attract Russian Tourists by Removing Visa

Iran aims to attract  more than 1 million Russian visitors by removing tourist visas for Russian nationals, Iranian Vice President and Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization Chief Masoud Soltanifar said Monday 1st February.

According to the local IRNA news agency for 2015 less than 50,000 Russian nationals visited Iran.

A governmental agreement to remove tourist visas was signed in Tehran on November 23, 2015 in the presence of the Russian and Iranian presidents, Vladimir Putin and Hassan Rouhani, following Russian-Iranian talks.
