The scientific programme of the 2018 meeting will be presented by more than 300 faculty members in more than 120 sessions including presentations of late breaking trials. In total, more than 2000 scientific abstracts and clinical cases are expected to be submitted.
Prof. Mitja Laincsak from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ljubljana and Scientific Chairperson of the 2018 meeting: „Around the theme of the 2018 congress – Heart Failure: classical repertoire, modern instruments – the most recent scientific and clinical evidence will be distilled into a number of sessions with particular emphasis on interaction with participants and translation to daily practice. The congress in Vienna 2018 will reflect on the heart failure guidelines, updated in 2016, and analyse whether and how the gaps in knowledge are being closed”.
Christian Mutschlechner, Director of the Vienna Convention Bureau adds: “We are extremely thankful to the Heart Failure Association of the ESC for having chosen our city for a scientific meeting which will contribute to the increased quality of treatment of patients. Vienna offers an excellent infrastructure for this type of meetings and to welcome Heart Failure 2018 in Vienna underlines the ongoing cooperation between the European Society of Cardiology and Vienna.“
