Silversea launches its most comprehensive World Cruise to date, featuring the highest number of destinations in the brand’s history

MIAMI – Silversea, the premier experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has launched its World Cruise 2026, ‘The Curious and the Sea’ – the brand’s most diverse and comprehensive voyage to date. Spanning 59 destinations across 30 countries, this six-continent journey aboard Silver Dawn connects travelers with navigation’s storied past, channeling the same spirit of curiosity that drove ancient mariners to venture into uncharted waters.

“With ‘The Curious and the Sea,’ we have created a journey that celebrates the essence of exploration,” said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. “From exclusive cultural celebrations to extraordinary culinary moments, this voyage is designed to spark curiosity and deepen connections with the world’s diverse cultures and landscapes, all delivered with the personalized service that defines Silversea.”

Travelers departed on this 140-day odyssey from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, following an evening celebration. The exclusive Bon Voyage gathering at the Boca Raton hotel embraced a 1920s theme commemorating the resort’s centennial anniversary, with attendees dressed in flapper-era fashion while enjoying jazz age entertainment.

World Cruise passengers are now sailing toward Central America, proceeding through the Panama Canal to Ecuador and Peru. The itinerary continues to Easter Island, French Polynesia, and the South Pacific, with extensive exploration of New Zealand and a semi-circumnavigation of Australia – a debut experience on a Silversea World Cruise. Travelers will then discover Southeast Asia, traverse the Bay of Bengal to Sri Lanka and India, before experiencing the spectacular landscapes of South Africa and the continent’s western coastline. This journey of discovery culminates with European history and culture, ending in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 27, 2026.

CELEBRATING CULTURE, CUISINE, AND CONNECTION

Silversea’s distinctive World Cruise collection offers travelers privileged cultural access through an array of exclusive events, curated specifically for guests. During ‘The Curious and the Sea,’ these include:

‘Polynesian Dreams’ – French Polynesia (February 7): Guests will immerse themselves in French Polynesia’s profound seafaring heritage on the sacred island of Motu Tapu, an area historically reserved exclusively for the legendary 19th-century monarch who ruled Tahiti. From tasting authentic regional flavors to mastering traditional dances, the event concludes with a celebration embodying the islands’ essence.

‘From Paddy To Plate’ – Benoa, Bali (March 26): A culinary celebration of regional cuisine set against the breathtaking rice terraces of the five-star Tanah Gajah resort welcomes guests in Benoa, Bali. Participants will gain insight into Southeast Asia’s revered grain, which traveled worldwide with early navigators. They will also engage in genuine Balinese performances, manuscript writing, and additional cultural activities.

‘The Exotic Marigold And More’ – Cochin, India (April 12): After a tuk-tuk journey through Cochin’s energetic streets, guests receive flower garlands and witness a dynamic display of Kerala’s cultural heritage. Featured attractions include drumming and martial arts demonstrations, a traditional Sadhya lunch presented on banana leaves, and a peaceful houseboat journey through the backwaters.

Diamonds are Forever – Cape Town (May 3): Drawing inspiration from the iconic Cullinan Diamond, this sophisticated evening at the Vergelegen Conservatory showcases a custom menu crafted by nine-time Michelin-starred chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen. Guests will savor orchestral music, swing band performances, and dance presentations, celebrating heritage and refinement.

A Feast of Flowers in Funchal – Funchal, Madeira (May 23): The concluding exclusive event of ‘The Curious and the Sea’ commences at Funchal’s Central Market during the renowned Flower Festival. Guests will then proceed to Quinta Magnolia for a garden reception highlighting local artisanal offerings, a live folk band, and a four-course dinner accompanied by performances between courses.

‘The Curious and the Sea’ features additional enhancements, including collaborations with world-class guest chefs and regional culinary ambassadors dedicated to enriching the gastronomic experience. They will introduce culinary variety through specialized tasting menus and onboard experiences, such as S.A.L.T. Talks and S.A.L.T. Lab classes, across five ports of call – including Lima, Melbourne, and Singapore. Passengers will also enjoy performances by the Tommy Dorsey orchestra. This ensemble – celebrated as one of the premier all-around dance bands – will perform onboard during the West Africa portion of the voyage.
