san 03314a1aWith the summer holidays drawing close, hotel comparison website www.trivago.co.uk has ranked Mediterranean beach destinations according to the reputation of their hotels. The reputation percentage is calculated from over 34 million user ratings and reviews compiled from over 160 booking sites. Included in the ranking are destinations with over 5000 aggregated reviews.

Below we present the top twenty Mediterranean beach destinations. The Greek islands of Santorini and Crete are clear favourites, with Santorini’s Imerovigli and Fira occupying the top two spots, followed by Crete’s Chania and Rethymnon in positions four and five. Italy is another highly-rated destination, with the town of Capri taking third place. Five Spanish destinations feature in the top twenty, the highest ranked being Llanes at position eight.
