Malaysia: Convention and Culture Partner of ITB Berlin

Malaysia is to launch its global promotion campaign entitled ’Visit Malaysia Year 2014’ at ITB Berlin with cultural events and information on Malaysia as a nature and beach holiday attraction as well as a MICE destination

Berlin, 4 December 2013 – As the Convention and Culture Partner of ITB Berlin 2014, Malaysia will be hosting a wide-ranging programme of events inviting visitors to delve into its fascinating world. At the world’s leading travel trade show this country at the heart of Southeast Asia with its vast and gorgeous beaches, exotic animals and plants and a unique blend of cultures will be presenting itself as an attractive destination for tourists keen on beach holidays, cultural attractions and nature.

Commenting on her country’s participation in ITB Berlin, Maizan Ahmad, the Director of Tourism Malaysia Germany said: “2014 will be an important year for us.“ The partnership with the ITB Berlin Convention signals the launch of a global campaign entitled ’Visit Malaysia Year 2014’ (VMY 2014), with which Malaysia aims to promote itself internationally and even more widely as an attractive travel destination this forthcoming year. “’Visit Malaysia Year‘ will seek to enthral visitors with numerous activities and events such as the Malaysia International Shoe Festival 2014, featuring creations by the famous designer Jimmy Choo, and the 1Malaysia International Tourism Night Floral Parade 2014 “, said Maizan Ahmad.

Visitors will be able to experience some of the highlights at ITB Berlin.Events will kick off with colourful cultural displays at the opening of the ITB Berlin Convention on 5 March 2014 in Hall 7.1b. In the Culture Hall Malaysia will be inviting visitors to find out everything about the country’s cultural diversity, its numerous attractions and many hidden natural treasures.Visitors to the Trends & Events Hall can find out about attractive eco-tours and adventure trips. On the main stage in Hall 4.1 dance performances will provide an insight into the multi-cultural society of this country in Southeast Asia. During the ITB Business Travel Days Malaysia will feature prominently in its role as a major MICE destination.
