PCMA-TV Video News Highlights from the PCMA Annual Meeting – Convening Leaders to be Shared with Meetings Industry
Chicago, IL, December 2009 – The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) is teaming with Content Management Corporation (CMC) and Convention News Television (CNTV) to provide daily LIVE webcasts and video news highlights from the January 10-13, 2010 Annual Meeting to be held in Dallas, TX.
CMC will provide LIVE webcasts to PCMA members for free of the hottest PCMA Annual Meeting general and plenary sessions.
CNTV will provide daily news programming of the convention that will be sent to all PCMA Annual Meeting attendees, members and the meetings industry at large and posted on the association web site so those not in attendance can get the highlights of the gathering.
“For various reasons, each year there are many of our members who aren’t able to attend the Annual Meeting but still want to engage with the organization and feel a part of our meeting,” said Deborah Sexton, PCMA President and CEO. “CMC and CNTV each provide an excellent way for us to keep our members informed in a fresh and timely manner. While CMC will be LIVE webcasting, CNTV is creating an electronic show daily for those not in attendance but also for attendees who want to see what they might have missed.”
CMC provides a wide variety of online education services. Direct hook ups from LIVE sessions will deliver content in real time to members unable to attend. CNTV provides coverage by bringing television journalists and Internet professionals to the convention where the team covers events as directed by meeting staff. At the end of each day a five to seven minute news program is created on site for overnight distribution.
“We’re happy to be the provider of a way for PCMA members to participate in the Annual Meeting – whether or not they’re able to be there – free of charge,” said Martin Copeland, CMC Managing Director.
“We are delighted to be teaming up with PCMA to show how technology can help associations extend the reach and life of their meetings, provide a unique member service and, yes, even generate revenue,” said Bill Peeper, vice president of sales and marketing for CNTV. “Our goal is to help planners promote their meeting and become an integral part of their marketing strategy to build convention attendance and member loyalty using the combined power of television and the Internet.”
CNTV also produced an attendance-building video to help marketing the meeting and will provide a “thank you” video for attendees post event.
