The 47th National Conference of Indian Academy of Pediatrics, organized by IAP AP State Chapter and Twin Cities IAP, in the Pearl city of India Hyderabad at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hyderabad from 7th to 10th January 2010. Advocacy means pursuit of influencing outcomes; outcomes that affect people’s current lives . For Physicians, care is a learned attribute, whereas, Advocacy implies active effort. Only when one’s scientific fundamentals are unshakeable an individual becomes an effective advocate. Hence, the Mission Statement of PEDICON 2010 is “Scientific Temperament”.
