Business visitors to the Britain pavilion at IMEX (Frankfurt 25 – 27 May) will be invited to participate in Britain’s own GPS golf putting simulator along with other various sports themes as VisitBritain positions the UK as a top draw destination for meetings, incentives travel and events.

This year, VisitBritain, the national tourism agency, celebrates the new ‘Golden Decade of Sport’, including key sporting events such as 2010 Ryder Cup Wales, 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games and the 2014 Commonwealth Games. As well as golf putting on the stand to practice your strokes, other features also include Lucozade power drinks and snacks to keep you going throughout the 3 day event. VisitBritain will be joined on the stand by 22 industry partners showcasing business tourism destinations, venues, and professional suppliers spanning the length and breadth of Britain.

Simon Mills, VisitBritain’s Head of Business Visits & Events, said: “Britain is one of the global meetings industry’s greatest success stories. Our world leadership in trade and industry, creative arts and its convenient global location, ensures that we continue to be one of the most attractive places in the world to do business.”

“With over 8,000 venues, some 50 convention and visitor bureaux and a host of suppliers to the industry, Britain is a world leader in hosting major international events, large or small, whether sporting, cultural, business or educational.”

A selection of British refreshments, including English sparkling wine, regional cheeses and Britain-branded cupcakes, will be served throughout the event in a welcoming, informal networking area in the pavilion.  Activity will drive buyers to VisitBritain’s dedicated website, www.visitbritain.com/business<http://www.visitbritain.com/business>, where they can find all the help and advice they need to plan successful and memorable meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions throughout Britain.
