The CCIB (Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona) is hosting, during the final quarter of the year, major international conferences and conventions from the technology, IT and telecommunications sectors.
Barcelona, November 2010.- SYMANTEC held its second conference, “Vision 2010”, for 1,600 of its customers and partners from Europe, the Middle East and Africa at the CCIB facilities, from the 4 to 7 October. After this important event, CCIB’s agenda included other key sector meetings, such as that held by one of the world’s leading IT sector companies, MICROSOFT. The multinational gathered more than 1,500 delegates from 18 to 20 October. During November there are three other major European conferences: AVAYA EMEA BUSINESS PARTNER, from 8 to 10 November; the SAP HR FIN GRC 2010 EUROPE, from 9 to 12 November and HP SOFTWARE UNIVERSE 2010, from 30 November to 2 December. At the final event, around 2,500 delegates will debate and discover the latest advances in software and advanced solutions.
“Its modern technology resources, the specialisation of technical personnel and design of its facilities with natural light and sea views are the main reasons why multinationals from those sectors choose CCIB”, commented Marc Rodríguez, CCIB’s general manager.
He added, “Having a wide range of our own material and services ensures a rapid and tailored response to the needs of each event, based on its characteristics and goals”.
The CCIB is one of the most technologically advanced complexes in the world. Its facilities include a wireless telecommunications system, 100 Mb direct Internet access, with symmetrical bandwidth through a diversified link and Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the centre, with capacity for offering a voice and data transmission service to up to 2,500 users simultaneously.
This technology provides a solution to the most creative and complex communication requirements of the organisers of these events who, due to the high level of specialisation of their delegates and the nature of the sector, require the very latest infrastructures. The Barcelona International Convention Centre also has another advantage: its location. Situated along the new Barcelona seafront, Diagonal Mar, the CCIB has over twenty 3, 4 and 5-star hotels nearby, with more than 4,800 rooms in total, plus a public transport network to guarantee full accessibility to and integration with the city itself.
