Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition Sparkles for the Ninth Record Year

Doha February, 2011: More than 300 exhibitors, including some of the world’s most exclusive and well known brands, will showcase their latest designs at the Doha Exhibition Centre (DEC) February 20-26, 2012.

More than 60,000 local and international visitors expected to attend the seven-day exhibition which is spread over 15,000 square meters at the DEC. Organized by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) the exhibition is billed as one of the region’s pre-eminent and again will bring to Doha some of the world’s finest jewellery and watch collections.
Luxury brands exhibiting this year include Van Cleef and Arpels, Chanel Haute Jewelry and Vacheron. This year’s event features new exhibitors representing some of the world’s leading names in the industry from Europe and the Middle East.
In 2011 the show attracted more than 50,000 visitors, many of them coming from the neighboring regions including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. With the industry’s leading retailers and manufacturers back with their exclusive presentations and a number of new exhibitors, the 2012 show is expected to record a significant increase in the number of visitors from all over the GCC region.
QTA Internal Exhibitions Head, Mr. Lahdan Al Mohannadi said it was a great honor to bring the finest jewellers and watchmakers to Qatar for the event as well as highlighting high end local-based brands.

“The timing of the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition is significant in that it falls between the two most important jewellery and watches exhibitions in Switzerland:  the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva and Baselworld in Basel.  The Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition has thus become part of the preview series for the latest collections.”
