First convention centre in the world to offer virtual event site visits

You can now experience Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre in full event action without actually being there in person.

The RAI is introducing a new iPad app which allows organisers to experience a virtual site visit to its complex, seeing and hearing events in the halls and event spaces as if they are actually there. Amsterdam RAI is the first convention centre in the world to introduce a Virtual Tour app with 360 degree panoramic video of this kind.

Whether you are standing in an empty hall or in your own office, the iPad app offers a spectacular virtual insight into the possibilities provided by Amsterdam RAI,” comments Maurits van der Sluis, Executive Vice President at Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre. “It has never been easier to envision an event at the RAI. This cutting-edge marketing tool is typical of the way Amsterdam RAI pushes the needle of innovation in the exhibitions, conventions and events sector.”

Besides the 360º video the app also contains content like videos and photos of past events, that can inspire an organizer to create their own event. In the future more events will follow on the iPad app.

Renewed strategy

Connecting physical and virtual meetings is an important focus of Amsterdam RAI’s strategy for the coming five years. Van der Sluis concludes: “Connecting context, content and communities to create added value. That’s what Amsterdam RAI believes in”. In line with this philosophy, Amsterdam RAI developed the Virtual Tour App together with production company MINIbar.
