Fare of London celebrates 500th ceremonial dinner with the Harveian OrationQuintessentially British contract and event caterer Fare of London this week celebrates a key milestone by delivering its 500th ceremonial dinner, to be held at the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) on Thursday 17th October.

The Harveian Oration is an annual lecture and dinner instituted in 1656 by William Harvey, the physician who discovered circulation of the blood. The RCP will host an expected 250 attendees both fellows and guests of the college at the dinner. The fellows will enjoy the annual lecture followed by a five course menu, developed to reflect the theme of the Harveian Oration.

Specialising in delivering contract catering and event sales services to its London venue clients, Fare of London has developed a breadth of experience in hosting ceremonial dinners for livery companies and other traditional institutions in the capital. Servicing venues such as Ironmongers’ Hall and Furniture Makers’ Hall, the company has delivered numerous ceremonial events such as the Lord Mayor’s Dinner, an annual event for members of the Ironmongers’ Company to invite their guests including the Lord Mayor and other prominent City, legal, academic and military professionals.

Other ceremonial dinners served by Fare of London have included the New Members Dinner at RCP along with the Master and Clerk’s Lunch at Furniture Makers’ Hall.

Fare of London Managing Director John Durden comments: “Ceremonial dining is one of our specialities and we are delighted to have reached this milestone.  Maintaining tradition with ceremonial celebrations is a key offering for many of our client venues and we have refined our skill set and understanding of individual requirements to support them in delivering an exceptional level of service to members.”
