cologne cbCOLOGNE. The Cologne Convention Bureau (CCB) recently got together with the Renaissance Cologne and Cologne Marriott Hotel to take part in the first certification workshop for holding medical training events in accordance with the code of the FSA (Vereins Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle für die Arzneimittelindustrie e.V. – Association for the Voluntary Self-Regulation for the Pharmaceutical Industry).

Those participating in the workshop were given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the finer points of the FSA code regulations relating to the organisation and execution of medical training. They focussed primarily on sections dealing with the contractual cooperation among companies with groups of medical experts, the issuing of invitations to training events and hospitality.

The participants then took a test to obtain their qualification. The CCB now has a certificate valid for one year that enables them to advise pharmaceutical companies on the content of the code. “It is important for us to have a better understanding of both our customers and our partners so we can offer them the best possible advice,” said Stephanie Franke, Head of the CCB.

Two first-class Cologne hotels were also deemed officially code-compliant following the workshop: the Renaissance Cologne and Cologne Marriott. “Medical training events have an immense role to play — not only for the Cologne hotel industry but for the city as a whole. That’s why we’re fully behind this commitment,” said Annette Hanß, Sales Director for both of these Cologne-based Marriott hotels.
