Green Globe Certification today announces the launch of its www.greenglobe.com portal to further consolidate its global Alliance. This information hub brings together all Green Globe services offered in countries and regions around the world, assisting businesses as well as individual travellers discover the best in sustainable travel and tourism.Green Globe Certification CEO, Mr Guido Bauer said, “Green Globe has been an international movement for over 15 years, delivering its certification services in more than 40 countries. The launch of the new portal is the culmination of an unprecedented year of growth for Green Globe Certification. Key to the success has been the formalising of all strategic and licensed partners under the Green Globe Alliance.
The Alliance has united world class certification organisations under the Green Globe brand.
- German- based TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH (TÜV) has signed an agreement to deliver Green Globe certification in territories across the world.
- Heritage Environmental Management South Africa is already providing Green Globe accreditation to the tourism and hospitality industry in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- In the Middle East, Farneck Avireal LLC is providing hotel certification under licence from Green Globe.
- Mexican-based partner ProNatura has incorporated Green Globe Mexico and under license provides all Green Globe services for Mexico and Central America.
- Green Globe Certification has been appointed as a Strategic Partner of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) and a member of the Caribbean Alliance for Sustainable Tourism (CAST) Governing Council.
In recognition of the substantial achievements made in 2009, Green Globe Certification has been awarded a 10 year license with multiple extensions from Green Globe International, Inc. (GGI). This unprecedented access to manage the brand and its related services has also been extended to new markets including transportation, automotive and retail, which are now demanding independent verification of sustainable operations and management.
