Ten decision makers in international MICE planning were invited by JNTO (Japan
National Tourism Office) and hosted by local bureaus during February 25 – March 4.
The Chiba Convention Bureau was proud to have the chance to host four members of
the delegation, guiding them around the prefecture to give them a sense of the diverse
beauty and functionality that Chiba offers for visitors and businesses. Charlotte
Boskila, Congress Destination Sourcing Manager of Kenes International, made the
following comments;
Chiba as a general or pre/post tour destination
To be honest I had not heard of Chiba Prefecture before my visit so was surprised to see so
many different opportunities of tours for congress participants, i.e. Mount Nokogiri and the
towns of Katsuura and Onjuku. The beautifully kept Shrines and Temples are of great
interest to overseas visitors; the high standards of restaurants and the friendliness of the
people are some of the things I will remember and recommend. I would recommend these
areas not only to participants that attend a congress at the Makuhari Messe* but also those
who attend congresses in Tokyo and Yokohama.

Chiba Convention Bureau
In my role as Congress Destination Sourcing Manager for Kenes International, I work with
Convention Bureaus all over the world and it is always a great pleasure to meet a
Convention Bureau team that is professional and very knowledgeable of their area. It was
a delight to meet both Yumiko and Takeo and not only to learn a lot about Chiba but to leave
with a feeling that if we did bring a congress to Chiba we would have the full support of the
Chiba Convention Bureau.
