Coveted award bestowed on Liverpool landmark

ACC Liverpool, comprising BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, was recognised for its green credentials at the Exhibition News Awards, 7th May 2010.

Voted for by professional exhibition and event organisers across the world, the Green Award affirms ACC Liverpool’s commitment to evolving its environmental and CSR policies.

The Exhibition News Awards have become recognised as the benchmark for professionalism and best practice in the exhibition industry, testament to this is the 39% increase in entries year on year.  The Green Award was one of the most popular award categories as venues recognise the importance and onus that both organisers and visitors place on environmental issues.  Last year at the Exhibition News Award, ACC Liverpool was the recipient of the Best Team Award in recognition of its people and uncompromising service standards.

Later in the month, on 25th May, ACC Liverpool will be sharing insights into its green initiatives including the Global Green Alliance at IMEX, the leading trade show for meetings and events.

Jacquie Rogers, General Manager of BT Conventions Centre said, “I am absolutely delighted for ACC Liverpool to have been recognised in this category.  We were built in 2008 to have a minimum environmental impact and two years on we are not resting on the laurels of our bricks and mortar; we are still striving for improvement.  Our Green Dream Team has been integral to the success in reducing our energy bills by 14% and also helping us achieve Zero to Landfill status.  The team’s work has culminated in being recognised by clients, suppliers and peers and we are truly delighted!”
