Digital journeys at Mötesplats Skola

During the November school holiday, Mötesplats Skola offers rich opportunities for fresh inspiration for everyone working in the education sector. One of this year’s most exciting initiatives is Digitala Rummet (the Digital Room).

How can digital technology be used in teaching? What does the future look like? And what is possible and already reality today?
“Digital room” gives visitors the opportunity to go on three different journeys – focused on pre-school, comprehensive school and upper secondary school. Guided by the students themselves, innovative examples are shown of how modern technology can be used in the classroom.

“The idea is to provide inspiration but also to show what digital learning actually looks like today,” says Sofia Larsson at GR Utbildning, which is organising Mötesplats Skola in collaboration with the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre.

Even in the pre-school, there are many applications for digital learning platforms. Parents can see films from the children’s forest trip. In the upper secondary school, the film camera can be a way of reporting scientific experiments.

“Digital learning is really on the agenda. But often it’s simply about teaching methods and not technology. We therefore want to demonstrate practical opportunities and offer pedagogic discussions on the challenges and the opportunities for digital learning,” says Sofia Larsson.

Mötesplats Skola takes place from 1–2 November. For further information visit: www.motesplatsskola.se.
