THE FIVE STAR EVENT FOR THE MEETINGS & EVENTS INDUSTRY IN THE MIDDLE EAST

The fifth edition of GIBTM will once again take place at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi from 28 – 30 March 2011 (www.gibtm.com).

Since the inaugural event, GIBTM has seen attendance grow exponentially, as the show becomes the region’s annual event for the meetings industry.  A record 260 Hosted Buyers from 40 countries attended GIBTM 2010, up 10% on 2009, according to an independent audit, and contributed to an overall attendance of 1,916 at the 2010 event.  A total of some 7,500 meetings took place with the 220 exhibitors, again an increase on the 2009 show.

The event is now established as an important business platform for international and regional suppliers from national tourist organisations, destinations, convention bureaux, destination management companies, independent hotels and hotel groups as well as specialist service providers representing the Gulf and Middle East region, South and South East Asia, Europe, North Africa and beyond.

The 2011 Hosted Buyer programme aims to bring high quality pre-qualified buyers from regions such as Europe, Africa, Asia, the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East and it is projected that some 2000 trade visitors will attend.

The three day education programme, that includes the annual presentation of the Middle East Meetings Research Report, also attracted a record audience and in 2011 the content will once again help to give delegates a global and regional update on the industry from those who are the industry’s thought leaders.

Visitors and Buyers to GIBTM are professionals involved in the planning or organisation of incentive travel programmes, congresses or events including: Conventions, Conferences & Meetings, Corporate Hospitality, Incentive Travel, International Congresses, Product Launches, Special Events, Staff Motivation, Training Programmes and Business Travel.
