EDINBURGH, Scotland, January 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — The Point Hotel, have announced the launch of new loyalty cards using contactless smartcard technology from sQuid, introducing two new sQuid cards; The Point Hotel Loyalty Card & Ambassador Card.

The Point Hotel Loyalty Card will give card holders GBP1.00 of rewards for every five pounds spent, which can be redeemed on food and drink in the hotel restaurant or bar.

The Ambassador Card entitles cardholders to benefits throughout the year such as special offers, invites and treats and the Point Hotel is currently offering complimentary breakfast, lunch or dinner, plus a night’s stay with breakfast as a welcome gift.

General Manager at the Point Hotel, Ronald Little said, “We are very excited about launching a choice of loyalty cards to our customers.

“As well as rewarding our loyal customer we can encourage them to come back again and again by offering unique rewards available only to card holders.”

sQuid offers a breakthrough in multi-purse smartcard loyalty and payment services, as it enables customers to have two purses on one card; one for making payments with pre-loaded money, and one for storing their loyalty rewards.

The accounts can be managed using an online account, where users can top up their cards, and view transactions on both purses to keep track of what they are spending, as well as how much they are being rewarded.

John Gallacher, Regional Manager for sQuid in Scotland, said, “The Point Hotel in Edinburgh is a prestigious hotel and a natural fit for sQuid and we look forward to working together to bring real loyalty to their valued customers.”
