The second Conference Ambassador Networking Group is to be held at Liverpool’s Novotel Hotel on 24th March.

Following the success of last year’s ambassadors meeting in NewcastleGateshead, Liverpool will take over proceedings this year. As part of the event, fellow ambassador programme organisers will once again come together to share information and best practice on maximising ambassador programmes so that respective regions can continue to attract major conferences to their destinations.

The ‘Conference Ambassador Networking Group’ will bring together 25 attendees from convention bureaus including Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Cambridge, Cardiff, Carlisle and Cumbria, Cork, Dublin, Edinburgh, Hull and East Yorkshire, Lancashire and Blackpool, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle Gateshead and Yorkshire South.

Liverpool will also be providing advice on making ambassador programmes work and how event organisers can benefit from such groups as part of a seminar at International Confex. Titled ‘Ambassadors in the city: Making ambassador programmes work for your next event’ the seminar will take place in the Organising and Logistics theatre on 1st March at 10.15am. Liverpool Convention Bureau Manager Carol O’Reilly will be joined by Conference Researcher for Liverpool, Hazel Kennedy and one of their ambassadors Sally Woods, who played a part in bringing the International Harm Reduction Conference to the city in 2010.
