LONDON, February 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — No matter whether they are mobile self-employed persons, employees of SMEs or frequent travellers from an international company – they all spend several nights a week in hotels. It had to be asked in which hotels such business travellers preferred to spend the night during 2010. Was there a preferred chain for business guests and did the smaller, owner-managed hotels have any success in attracting such clients?

hotel.info (http://www.hotel.info), the online hotel reservation service with more than 210,000 hotels worldwide, offered free of charge to users, made a detailed analysis of the booking pattern of business travellers during 2010 – and that in several countries. Due to the importance to the business traveller of the value for money offered and the resultant preference for hotels in the mid to upper hotel categories the analysis concentrated on hotels having 2 to 4 stars (including those with 4.5 stars).
