IMEX America Strategic Partner Delivers Powerful Education

Oct. 11, 2011 – Las Vegas – IMEX America attendees showed their dedication to professional development, as hundreds of planners and suppliers flocked to attend the full day of Smart Monday content from strategic partner and premier education provider, Meeting Professionals International (MPI) yesterday. The MeetDifferent Day of Education brought innovative education focused on a variety of topics that included meeting design, buy/sell relationships and sustainability practice.

All education was free and available to all attendees, and each session and speaker focused on objectives related to the learner and implementation during the IMEX America experience. The day began with an opening session from speaker Cheryl Cran, CSP, which set the tone for the day for more than 400 professionals. Networking and collaborative time was interspersed between knowledge sessions, allowing attendees to discuss what they just heard and continue learning.

“Through collaboration and leveraging our powerful partnership with IMEX America, we are able to connect even more professionals with our content that is driving change in the industry,” said Bruce MacMillan, president and CEO of MPI. “Utilizing the MeetDifferent approach of leading-edge thinkers and unique room concepts is just one way we are to provide attendees with professional development on topics that matter to business now. I anticipate the three daily general sessions will be equally attended and well-reviewed.”

Professionals who attended MPI’s education were also treated to a special luncheon and behind-the-scenes tour from the internationally-known Blue Man Group, where the cast and crew answered questions about the company’s five domestic shows and international productions. Additionally, each session throughout the day was designed with skills that could be used immediately at IMEX America on the show floor, and also throughout participants’ careers.

MPI professional development delivery continues with daily general session speakers during the trade show. Beginning at 8:45 a.m., speakers include Robin Sieger, Dr. Brené Brown and Peter Sheahan. For additional information on MPI, visit mpiweb.org
