London Hotels Insight recently launched a free advisory service for companies to help them identify the best free WiFi meeting venues in London. A recent visit to the Radisson Edwardian Heathrow revealed that it ticks many of the criteria.

London Hotels Insight’s London venue finding service offers companies inside knowledge and free advice to help them choose the ideal London conference facilities.
Over the coming weeks and months, our expert hotel bloggers will inspect various meeting venues to identify the ones that best meet our demanding checklist of criteria.  As a prerequisite, all the venues inspected must offer free WiFi.To kick matters off, London Hotels Insight recently visited and inspected the meeting facilities of Radisson Edwardian Heathrow.  A significant proportion of the hotel’s 42 Heathrow meeting rooms were visited and assessed against the checklist which included factors like value for money, versatility, location, atmosphere, sustainability, service, suites and more.London Hotels Insight’s hotel experts also met one of the meetings and events coordinators on this visit, who was questioned closely on the specific services that the Heathrow hotel provides to organisations and individuals arranging meetings.

The key findings of the London Hotels Insight venue inspection team were as follows:

– Radisson Edwardian Heathrow has 42 meetings and event spaces which offer a huge range of options to companies, with solutions to suit almost every need and budget.  Up to 700 people can be accommodated at any one event.

–  The hotel aims to offer leisure guests and companies a 5 star level of service at a 4 star price, cramming in as much value added as possible in terms of extras and services.

–  Since the Radisson Edwardian Heathrow specialises in conferences and events by virtue of its product range and location, the hotel’s team is very experienced in fulfilling client requests however specific they may be.  As one of their events coordinators explained to us, they organise so many events at the hotel they are not easily fazed.

– The hotel provides free WiFi throughout, which appears to be quite rare in Heathrow airport hotels; some others in the area are thought to charge £8-£12/delegate extra per day, not to mention the inconvenience this causes when a lot of delegates at a hotel which charges extra for WiFi are attempting to get online.  London Hotels Insight successfully tested the WiFi at this hotel through its recent “free WiFi touchdown” initiative.

– The Radisson Edwardian Heathrow has a rather unique ambience and decor which is quite distinct from a “typical” airport hotel – it’s in keeping with the parent company’s central London hotels thanks to the grand chandeliers, inspiring art and relaxing chill-out spaces.  A common design theme is the interplay of light and space, which contributes to a highly stimulating atmosphere to make meeting attendees feel fresh and productive.

– The location is only minutes from the airport, which makes it a particularly good meeting venue for multinational companies which have to fly executives in from different countries.  Holding a conference at Radisson Edwardian Heathrow rather than in the centre of town can generatesignificant cost and time savings, without compromising on quality.  At the same time, the hotel is connected to the central London underground network via the Piccadilly Line.

– The Radisson Edwardian Heathrow offers a range of spacious business-ready suites for top execs attending meetings at the hotel, often purely included as a value-added extra.  More intimate boardrooms are also available and these were also personally inspected by the London Hotels Insight team.

– The hotel’s Pegasus Health Spa offers a sauna, steam room, relaxation area, solarium, plunge pool and a range of treatments which might be useful for companies that wish to offer their teams an opportunity to relax and recharge after a demanding day’s work.  There is also a fully-equipped gym and the popular Bijou Bar which appears to attract patrons from other Heathrow hotels which perhaps have a slightly less vibrant atmosphere.

– The conference facilities of the hotel are extremely versatile and adaptable: a venue for a drinks reception can merge seamlessly into an area for private dinner and spill out onto a beautiful terrace area with views of a garden or running water.  The venue inspectors were particularly taken by the stunning Newbury suite (pictured).

– Radisson Edwardian is dedicated to a sustainable and green approach to meetings management. The hotel chain’s MeetWell philosophy helps reduce the environmental impact of meetings with a view to positively impacting the local community. Furthermore all food is freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced and locally sourced.  From a practicality and cost standpoint, meetings organisers benefit from the fact that the hotel has several food and beverage outletsand is able to tailor a bespoke menu to meet very specific requirements, going above and beyond many other hotels.

After completing its inspection, London Hotels Insight concluded that holding a meeting at this Heathrow airport hotel offers a very attractive alternative to central London meeting venues both from a cost and quality standpoint.

We would recommend that meeting bookers get in touch directly with Radisson Edwardian Heathrow with details of their specific event by emailing htrwcb@radisson.com or calling + 44 (0)20 8757 7903.  There is also a special website at www.heathrowevents.com which provides in-depth information on the hotel’s meeting venues including videos.

Alternatively, conference organisers can also contact London Hotels Insight if they require further advice on this or other London meeting venues.
