The film “Cloclo” by director Florent Emilio Siri, with Belgium’s Jérémie Renier in the leading role, is out over here next Wednesday 14 March. This long-awaited film is set in Paris as well as in Belgium, specifically Brussels. It was thanks to the close cooperation with Brussels Film Office that some of the scenes in “Cloco” could be shot in Brussels. Brussels Film Office ensured smooth and problem-free organisation.

Brussels Film Office is the admissions office for filming in the Brussels Region, working together with the 19 municipalities. Their foremost challenge is to help filming in Brussels run as smoothly as possible, and directors, production and advertising companies and other professionals can always turn to them for information regarding the steps necessary for filming permits, obtaining the names of contacts for places that might be used for locations, as well as for information about the rights to images of protected and other locations in Brussels.

In collaboration with this public service, the “Cloclo” crew filmed for a month in well-known areas of Brussels such as Saint-Gilles, Uccle, Woluwe, Ixelles and Brussels centre. During preparations for the film they first put forward all possible locations for shooting scenes, and then after that offered support in terms of filming access and parking.

Patrick Bontinck, CEO of VISITBRUSSELS: “The promotion of Brussels is the primary mission of VISITBRUSSELS. To show Brussels in films that will be seen by millions of viewers, is an important tool to achieve just that. Our department of the Brussels Film Office has therefore assisted more than 350 shoots in Brussels in 2011. The film Cloclo is undoubtedly one of those which will record the highest number of spectators. We are there for delighted to have contributed to this remarkable film. “
