Paris expo Porte de Versailles, a venue of the Viparis group, has been chosen to host the 26th World Gas Conference (WGC 2015), the world’s largest event dedicated to the gas sector. The conference meets every three years and in 2015 will be returning to Paris after an absence of 75 years. The conference will be held from 1 to 5 June 2015. Under the presidency of Jérôme Ferrier, this “world gas summit” will bring together some 5,000 delegates and 25,000 professional visitors.
Paris, 75 years after
The World Gas Conference is organized every three years by the International Gas Union (IGU), and in 2015 will be returning to Paris after an absence of 75 years. The Paris event comes after the WGC conference in Kuala Lumpur and precedes the Washington, DC conference. The last time the IGU convened in Paris was at the Universal Exposition of 1937.
We made Paris a strong point of our 2008 candidacy for the IGU presidency,” notes Daniel Paccoud, chairman of the national organizing committee of WGC 2015. “We’ve been working since 2009 on choosing the venue best suited to the configuration of our event and the demands of our visitors. Our delegates and visitors are looking forward to coming to Paris for the 26th conference!” The organizers are expecting 5,000 delegates to participate in the conference’s debates, with 25,000 visitors to the parallel exhibition.
