Copenhagen gets an A+ for meeting design

Yet again, Copenhagen has underlined its position as one of the most innovative cities in the world. Participants at this year’s FRESH conference were particularly impressed with the Danish capital’s approach to innovative meeting design.

Leading experts in the field of meeting design gathered in Copenhagen this January for the second FRESH conference. They were here to share knowledge and learn more about the latest trends in meeting design. And they all agreed on one thing: when it comes to meeting design, Copenhagen is a global leader.

FRESH participants were particularly impressed by the Danes’ innovative way of thinking and the time spent on meeting design, as well as with the city’s great infrastructure, venues and food. Conference organiser, Maarten Vanneste, explains why they chose the Danish capital as this year’s host city:

“I think Copenhagen was an obvious choice because Denmark and Copenhagen have been active in meeting design for many, many years. I would say Copenhagen is the world capital of meeting design, so it was an easy choice.”

The FRESH conference was held in close collaboration with Wonderful Copenhagen and Visitdenmark. On Monday evening the participants were also introduced to the leading Danish meeting concept, Meetovation.

Organisers choose Copenhagen for second time in a row
This is the second year that FRESH has been held in Copenhagen. FRESH’s organiser, Maarten Vanneste, says that they chose the Danish capital partly because they saw a value in committing this relatively new conference to one particular destination, but also because of the service FRESH has enjoyed at their hotel, Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers:

“The hotel has been wonderful. The service they bring, the catering is amazing, very, very creative, very colourful, very nice variation and healthy stuff. It is all good food, healthy food, brain food. So all of these things are in place, and it’s almost automatic in Copenhagen. Plus this is one of the greenest hotels in the world; one of the greenest places you can go to for organising a conference. That obviously also helps,” Vanneste explains.

The first FRESH conference was held in January 2012. FRESH gathers both professionals in the meeting design industry and ‘freshmen’ with less experience of this branch of the industry. The aim of FRESH is to discover new, ‘fresh’ ways of improving conference dynamics, presentation techniques, networking activities, and so on.
