In 2014 the world’s most important eTourism Conference, ENTER, brings together the research community and the industry in Dublin between January 21-24 and offers a fantastic programme centred around the opportunities and challenges within the social inspiration context.
ENTER 2014, which is organised by the International Federation of Information Technology in Travel and Tourism (IFITT), offers a unique forum for attendees from industry, academia, government, and other organisations to actively exchange, share, and challenge the state-of-the-art research and industrial case studies on the application of information and communication technologies to travel and tourism.

Following its main theme ‘Where Social Inspiration Meets Dynamic eTourism Innovation’, the 21st version of the ENTER conference is aimed at discovering the opportunities and challenges with the social inspiration context, exploring technology concepts, applications and business models in travel and tourism.

The comprehensive programme of the conference contains a range of interesting presentations that will be organised in three streams: ‘research focus’, ‘destination focus’ and ‘industry and innovation focus’. These will be underlined by several main topics, such as ‘Mobile Tourism’, ‘ICT Adoption & Use’, ‘Games in Tourism’ and ‘Big Data’, which will be presented by an interesting mix of world class speakers from the industry and academia. Among the 6-8 keynote speakers will be Richard Lewis (CEO Interchange & Consort Hotels Ltd, Best Western Hotels GB) who will give an insight into the ‘Future Hunting in the Hospitality Industry’, Dr Mike Short CBE FREng CEng FIET (Vice President – Public Affairs, Telefonica Europe) who will talk about ‘Internet for all – Impact on Tourism and Travel‘ and Marina Treshova (CEO & co-founder, Fastlane Ventures) who will give a presentation about ‘Building Russia’s leading online players’.

All presentations will consider the interactions among information and communication technology use and the development in both, supplier and user context in travel and tourism, providing the conference delegates with a range of different aspects that they can take home and apply to their businesses.

IFITT is looking forward for an exciting conference with more than 300 delegates from all over the world forming a great networking opportunity for all participants.

IFITT President Professor Dimitrios Buhalis of Bournemouth University, UK, says: ”The ENTER conference is an excellent international event for exchanging, sharing, learning, and debating state-of-the-art research findings and industrial applications on information and communication technologies. Always enjoyable to attend and learn so much.”

ENTER 2014 will take place in Dublin between January 21-24, 2014.
