aegean airThe positive potential of the summer’s passenger traffic continues for AEGEAN, which saw a +22% increase in international traffic, carrying in total 1.3 million passengers during the May-July 2013 quarter, 235 thousand more compared to the same period of 2012.

This positive trend continued over July, with international traffic increasing by +19%, to 508 thousand passengers.

This development is the result of AEGEAN’s strategy to invest in its network, by adding 11 new destinations and extra international flights both from Athens and from the regions.

In more detail, the result for the tourism of Athens is especially positive, where a reversal of the negative trend of 2012 can be witnessed, with an increase of international traffic by 15%.  Important however is also the further enhancement of the positive trend of the other main bases, from which at least 3 aircraft conduct flights, and specifically those of Thessaloniki, Heraklion and Rhodes, where we see a 19% – 41% increase, giving a boost to the positive trend of the past three-year period.
