The competences of Stuttgart Region’s local industry help bring two international association congresses to Stuttgart this fall

Stuttgart Region is the place to be for innovation and high-tech companies.  The region’s successful candidacy, which was prepared by Stuttgart Convention Bureau in close cooperation with the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation, won two international conferences for Stuttgart.

The local vehicle manufacturing cluster, which is unique in the world, and the dynamic and growing local software cluster played a significant role. Strong skills and interesting side programs tipped the scales: SAE 2013 Electric Powertrain Technologies Symposium and SAE 2013 Augmented and Virtual Reality Technologies Symposium will be held at the same time in Stuttgart on 20 and 21 November 2013 in cooperation with the Virtual Dimension Center Fellbach.

The organizer of the two conferences is US-based SAE International, the leading association of engineers and technical professionals in the aerospace, automobile and off-road vehicle industries. “Selecting the right city for SAE International’s Augmented and Virtual Reality and Electric Powertrain Technologies Symposiums was extremely important. We needed a city with the right mix of culture, beauty and innovative spirit.  As a technical hub of mobility innovation, including AR/VR technologies, Stuttgart is the perfect match,” says Patti Kreh, Manager of SAE Engineering Events, about the destination.

The organizer chose the Pullman Stuttgart Fontana Hotel as the congress hotel.
