TED_VancouverPowerful. Riveting. World-changing. TED has released the lineup of speakers that will take the stage at its 30th anniversary conference in Vancouver, and every person on the list can be aptly described with these words. The globally renowned conference, based in California for the past 29 years, announced last year that its “Next Chapter” would see a move to Vancouver in 2014 – and the time has finally come.

More than 50 of the world’s foremost thought leaders will convene at the Vancouver Convention Centre for TED 2014, including rock-star astronaut Chris Hadfield, philanthropists Bill and Melinda Gates, and musician/activist Sting.

More highlights:Randall Munroe of xkcd will share his passion for “What If” questions, Yoruba Richen will talk about the fastest-moving social justice campaign in history, and Wendy Chung has planned a scholarly overview of what we know right now about autism. Talks will range from technology, entertainment, design and education to climate change, architecture, physics and fireflies – a powerhouse collaboration of ideas that has the potential to change how we see the world.
