HarpaBeing selected on the list, Harpa outwits famous concert halls like the Sydney Opera House. The list is made by Emporis, a German building data company and published by CNN on their website.

According to Emporis the buildings should be as pretty on the eyes as they are dramatic on the ears and that concert halls have to have remarkable architecture, offering audiences a great show even before they have taken their seats.

This is yet another recognition for Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre as it has received several awards and prizes for its outstanding architecture including the European Union Prize for contemporary Architecture, Mies van der Rohe Award 2013, the prestigious MICE Report Awards 2012 as the best conference venue in Northern Europe, the Civic Trust Award 2012 and the Travel & Leisure Design Award 2012 as the best cultural building.

Harpa’s conference facilities have had great influence on the conference scene in Reykjavík.
