PATA Asia Pacific Visitor Forecasts 2014-2018 Volume I Available Now

May 15, 2014, Bangkok — The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) announceD that the PATA Asia Pacific Visitor Forecasts 2014-2018 Volume I – Executive is now available to purchase. The 2014 edition of PATA’s Asia Pacific Visitor Forecasts covers the five-year period from 2014 to 2018.

Highlights of the PATA Asia Pacific Visitor Forecasts 2014-2018 include:

Visitor arrivals to the overall Asia Pacific region will continue to grow at an average rate of just over 6% per annum over the period 2013-2018
Southeast Asia will show the strongest average annual growth rate over the forecast period at 12.1%
Given the rapid expansion of the Asian middle-classes coupled with their intense interest in international travel, Asian source markets into Asia Pacific will by our projection have increased in the five-year period from 325.8 to 472.4 million an effective increase per year by more than 146 million, a 7.7% growth per annum by the end of 2018.
In percentage growth terms, Russian IVAs into Asia Pacific are expected to rise at close to 20% per annum between 2013 and 2018, reaching an inbound volume of around 15 million in 2018.
The PATA Asia Pacific Visitor Forecasts 2014-2018 Volume I – Executive Summary has been developed following suggestions that a summary version of the full report be provided to give a top level overview of the key origin flows into major Asia Pacific destinations. As such, this report focuses on annual flows into each of the 38 destinations within Asia Pacific by major source region over the period 2014 to 2018, with a focus on the key generating markets and regions over that five-year period.
