secc1A collaborative effort between the Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) and exhibition organisers have seen an increase in visitor figures by an average of 6% in a number of their autumnal exhibitions.

The venues recent ‘niche’ lifestyle consumer exhibitions BBC Good Food Show, Hobbycrafts & Crafts for Christmas, The Retirement Show and new show Girls Day Out Exhibition have all performed well despite the tough operating climate for many exhibitions.

Speaking of the success, Ben Goedegebuure, Director of Sales at the SECC said; “Across the board our shows are doing increasingly well. We work closely with our clients to ensure they utilise every promotional opportunity presented to them. Also the very nature of these niche exhibitions makes them more resilient in a tougher economic climate.

“The success of our last four commercial exhibitions is welcoming to hear, they clearly demonstrate exhibitions remain paramount in communicating directly with your customer base. They are more in sync with the needs of their customer base and often have stronger relationships with them compared to the more mass-marketed exhibitions.”
