About 800 thousand people visit the resorts of the Caucasian Mineral Waters yearly. The authorities of the North Caucasian Federal District plan to increase the tourist flow up to 2 million people per year by 2020.
Earlier, when the tourist clusters in the North Caucasus were developed, the Caucasian Mineral Waters (Kavminvody) laid aside. Now the resort will have a special program. 5 new leisure centres will appear in Pyatigorsk, Zheleznovodsk and Essentuki in 2011.
In general, 5 new skiing resorts will be built in the North Caucasus by 2020. The tourist sites will be situated in Matlas (Dagestan), Mamison (the North Osetia), Arkhyz (Karachaevo-Cherkesiya), Lago-Naki (Adygeya) and Elbrus (Kabardino-Balkariya). Â www.atorus.ru
